An Audi with proximity detection enables you to start and enter your vehicle without needing to take the key out of your pocket or purse. This feature lets you unlock your car's doors and trunk, as well as the engine, by a single click of the sensor button on the key.
A sound-based sensor is also referred to as capacitive sensors, detects the presence of objects in the vicinity by using an acoustic signal. The sensors use an oscillator to create an electrical signal, which is transmitted through the air and picked up by an audio microphone, which transforms it into an audio file. Then, the audio files are compared to determine how similar they are and how close they are. If they are close enough, the system will transmit a wake-up signal to the key and transmit an ID signal that matches with the vehicle.
The first step to a more convenient driving environment is proximity detection.
